Canadian singer, Alyssa Reid‘s “Talk Me Down” music video reminds viewers of the hardships some teenagers go through. Throughout the video there are quotes posted from various teenagers, such as:
“They told me I should kill myself, the worst part is I actually believe them. – Alex, 17”
“He called me fat, after that I started to throw up. – Amanda, 16”
“I feel so alone. – Trevor, 12”.
Reid is reminding her viewers that bullying is an ongoing problem and that no one is alone. Through her use of quotes, the message becomes even more real as it connects on a personal level with viewers. At the end she puts up the message “If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem.”
