Kanye West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy features several other songs out there by means of sampling. Currently, a certain number of these samples is causing some problems for West, as he is now facing a lawsuit due to “copyright infringment,” or so TufAmerica (a record label) claims.
West‘s songs “Lost In The Woods” and “Who Will Survive In America?” samples the 1969 track “Hook and Sling, Part 1” by the late Eddie Bo. According to TufAmerica, West‘s labels (Roc-A-Fella and Universal) paid a license fee for the song. However, the label’s other uses for “Hook and Sling” was never accounted for and thus, TufAmerica is seeking damages for copyright infringment.
