John Mayer – Paper Doll

John Mayer is getting set to go on his summer tour with Philip Philips and it looks like he will be playing some new tunes. His song “Paper Doll” was released and it is similar to what we have heard in the past. I very much like it, but it’s not crazy different than what he has done in the past. My favourite part is the chorus and it’s definitely a song I can relax to. His new album Paradise Valley will be coming out soon, no release date has been set yet.

As I was listening, I couldn’t help but think of Taylor Swift. He clearly says, “Cause you’re like 22 girls all in one, referencing her song “22” off her Red album. This can be seen as a rebuttal from Swift’s song “Dear John.” Or maybe I can be totally wrong and just looking way too much into things. Either way, the song guarantees another successful album for Mayer.

Listen to the song below. Music is great, the lyric video is a little weird.
