Huey Mack is a hip-hop artist from West Virginia who surprisingly thought of the career as a joke when he was younger. From listening to his latest album, Pretending Perfection, Huey is making no jokes. Now you might be saying who is this guy, but trust me when you listen to the album you WILL change your mind (and if you don’t then I don’t know what to say about you).
There is something for everyone on this album – even if you don’t dabble too much in the hip-hop category. On top of traditional hip-hop qualities, Huey incorporates some pop-sounding beats like “Real Me”, “Take It All Back” and “Good for Me.” He has a flow that resembles fellow hip-hoppers like Mac Miller and Sammy Adams.
This is an album that you can pop in your stereo system and just chill out with some friends on a Friday or Saturday night and there are also bangers that you can just wild out to. The diversity on this is unreal considering it’s only his second album released on iTunes. He has come a long way from releasing his first mixtape titled Wish Me Luck at only 18 years old. Going through his YouTube account I can see that Huey has what it takes to stay in the game.
Keep an eye out for Huey because it’ll only be a matter of time before he makes mainstream success, jumping on tracks with some of the industry’s biggest stars.
