Featured Artist: Josh Martinez

Josh Martinez is also known as ‘The People’s Champ” and if you haven’t heard of him yet you may want to get familiar – just saying. He’s a Canadian artist who has recently taken his talents down south in search of the American Dream and a new beginning.

In the last year he has performed live over 100 times and was showcased at the 2012 Warped Tour. With touring comes great collaborations and Josh has worked with big names such as Classified and Macklemore.

Josh released his second solo album Blotto on iTunes on October 29th and will be available in stores on November 19th. The album highlights heartbreak and confusion, which eventually leads up to a redemption.

I listened to a couple songs off the album and I was very impressed. When I listen to Josh rap, he makes it sound effortless and it doesn’t seem like he’s trying too hard to flush out god-like lyrics, it just happens. Nowadays this is rare and we are used to hearing over-produced beats on top of lyrics that don’t sound real.

I recommend you check out the album and see if there’s something on there for you!

Here’s the track list for Blotto (at the bottom of this post you can check out the EPK from Josh’s site):

Ashes (ft. Evil Ebenezer)

My Jacket (ft. Ceschi & Sapient)
