Super-Canadian supergroup Mounties are currently streaming their debut album, Thrash Rock Legacy, in full on CBC Music’s First Play. If you’re saying to yourself, “Who?! What?!”, let me introduce you to your new favourite homegrown indie rock band consisting of Hawksley Workman, Steve Bays (Hot Hot Heat, Fur Trade), and Ryan Dahle (Limblifter, Age of Electric). When three talented Canadians get together from three different provinces (Ontario, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan, respectively), things just go oh-so-right.
The record features the dangerously danceable first single “Headphones”, as well as “If This Dance Catches On”, and the recently released “Made Up My Mind”; all of which entertain their own quirky music videos made up of Canadian archival footage and put together by Bays himself. On Thrash Rock Legacy, you’ll find yourself immersed in shimmying your shoulders, tapping your feet, and maybe even performing a passionate interpretive dance soundtracked by dreamy synth sounds, driving rock riffs, and whimsical beats.
Don’t forget to pick up Thrash Rock Legacy when it comes out on March 4 and catch Mounties out on their cross-Canada tour this spring – to see dates click HERE.
