Time for new music?
Hailing from Vancouver, the four-man group BESTiE cites that their music is inspired by “summer, ice cream, the beach, girls, floating down a river in an inner tube, high fives and heart break,” all of which absolutely encompasses a great summer. The band consists of Andrew Janczewski, Tristan Orchard, Daniel Ruiz and Rob Cameron, four friends who decided they wanted to form a band and did so.
Their upcoming album No Bad Days is 8 tracks of pure indie fun. In a display of said eccentric fun, the video for “Pineapple” – the first track off the new album – embodies everything there is about the band and keeps us hanging on for more. Their style is somewhere between relaxing on a couch and driving down an empty highway with the windows down. People might find similarities between BESTiE and Vampire Weekend as they both stem from the indie genre and heavily focus on vocals backed up by mellow and foot-tapping beats in the background.
The album is set to drop on April 22. You can also find BESTiE performing in Toronto on May 9 & 10 for Canadian Music Week.
Fun fact: The band’s two videos so far (“Pineapple” and “Asleep on a Bus”) have been directed by their lead singer himself, Tristan Orchard who is a Gemini-nominated film-maker!
