Australian band FAIRCHILD is releasing their debut EP, ‘Burning Feet‘, on April 25.
So far, they have also released their video for the single “Burning Feet.” While the band is just in it’s beginning stages, they have a lot of potential. The group is composed of six boys from Australia’s Gold Coast. The band’s sound is upbeat and cheery. A solid drum beat carries through each song and in “Figure It Out” off the EP, instruments like the tambourine make a musical appearance during the chorus.
The song “Dancer” however is a totally different sound. It’s way more electronic, and more pop sounding. The other songs were definitely pop, but they used lots of instruments, whereas this song is mostly electronic sounds. It’s a little weird, because there doesn’t seem to be a distinct genre for the EP, but all the songs are still really good. I think I like the instrumental songs more, just because “Dancer” sounds very generic.
FAIRCHILD will be travelling in May for a tour coming to Toronto, New York, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Singapore. They’ll actually be joining artists like City and Colour, The 1975, and Tegan and Sara at Canadian Music Week in Toronto. Here is the full list of dates:
