Allow us to introduce Toronto pop band, The Pinecones. Their unique sound engages you enough to keep you wanting to hear more.
The Pinecones are a Canadian trio featuring Brent Randall (Bass), Paul Linklater (Guitar) and Marshall Bureau (Percussion). They recently released their third album, Ooh, which includes some upbeat and fun tunes that capture their timeless writing style and special nostalgic sound.
While the psychedelic accent was most popular in the 1960s, this band has clearly not lost their love for the sounds of that era. However, the album – though British invasion-inspired – does not commit to just one era. The Pinecones have drawn inspiration from a variety of artists such as 70s power pop acts Big Star, Badfinger, as well as The Carpenters, and 60s teen idols and 90s Brit Pop.
My favourite tracks from the album are “Gloomy Monday” and the title track “Ooh.” You can hear the rest of the album and purchase it HERE.
The Pinecones clearly care about their craft and they have a unique sound that deserves to be heard. Get behind these guys and follow them on their social media by following them on Twitter @ThePinecones_ and like their Facebook page by clicking HERE!
