Three Days Grace – “Painkiller” (NEW Song)

Three Days Grace is back with new music! Excuse me while I throw a party in celebration. Since their split with front-man Adam Gontier back in the beginning of 2013, Matt Walst of My Darkest Days is taking over.

Many fans have been unsure about the cross over, but with this new single “Painkillers” I think most have realized that he is fully capable of picking up where Gontier left off. Yes, Adam will always have a distinct sound and TDG will always never truly be complete without him, but Walst is doing a great job.

The song has the instrumentals that are very true to Three Days Grace, but Walst’ vocals really change the game. They’re sharper and more electric sounding that Gontier’s. It’s different, but the song is not bad at all! It’s been very long since they’ve come out with new tunes. This one doesn’t disappoint. The chorus is the best. It’s very catchy. Although, while it’s catchy and clean, it lacks the emotion that was so present in Adam’s voice.

However, Walst is now officially part of the band after going on tour with them. It’s great, because now TDG doesn’t have to split, and the fans have a familiar face and voice as the new front-man. It should be exciting to hear what the band puts out for a full length record.
