Meet the next generation of all-female indie rockers: The Beaches. Made up of sisters Jordan and Kylie Miller alongside fellow bandmates Eliza Enman-McDaniel and Leandra Earl, this Toronto-based foursome is really starting to turn heads.
Formerly known as Done With Dolls, these rockers have put their Disney Channel performance days behind them with tracks like “Little Pieces,” the first single off their newly released EP Heights.
Heights truly showcases four girls on the cusp of adulthood and is a prime example of the new wave of fem-rock. The sassy, saw-tooth sound perfectly captures the angst-ridden teenage years with heavy guitar riffs and killer vocals, all in a way that is reminiscent of The Strokes and The White Stripes.
Despite the fact that they recently wrapped up a UK tour in support of Brody Dalle (formerly of The Distillers), The Beaches show no signs of slowing down. They’re set to kick off a Canadian summer tour beginning June 7 in Toronto.
