It’s amazing how a ‘Making Out’ playlist from Songza can bring you artists such as Liza Anne. Her name is just as pleasant as her music.
As I was hopelessly listening to Songza’s ‘Making Out’ playlist, I fell upon the angelic voice of Anne’s “1,000 Years” from her debut album, The Colder Months, which released back in February. It was love at first si– listen…
Like many independent artist these days, Anne’s debut album The Colder Months was funded by fans from Kickstarter. Not surprising as I don’t know why anyone wouldn’t want to listen to more of her beautiful voice.
Anne beautifully sings for the hopeless romantics and the broken hearted. Her haunting songs fit into every love story that I’ve ever ugly cried over my lifespan. (Mostly The Fault in Our Stars & the love story in my head.)
If you’re in love, in an interesting relationship, confused, heartbroken, single or still wanting to date a Jonas Brother/in denial about breaking up with a Jonas Brother, Liza Anne is the girl for you.
I urge you to listen to some of the beautiful songs from her debut album I listed, along with my favourite lyrics and Anne’s description of her songs.
“1,000 Years”
{For those who can’t quite swallow the fact that a goodbye has been said and that is that} – Anne
“These long days, you’re nothing but a story I keep telling just to drown out that goodbye.”
“The Colder Months”
{An effort to be gently honest in my uncertainty} – Anne
“The tragedy of it all is that your heart is like glass, so clear and so easy to be known, so tender to my touches.”
“Tunnels”
{Sometimes it’s the things on which we find ourselves most dependent that make us the most stifled version of ourselves – it’s a gradual dependency that slowly makes us weaker until we can’t remember who we were in the first place} – Anne
“I feel it constant, you’re running through my veins. I feel the whisper that I’m not the same without your aid & I don’t think I like myself without you.“
