It’s been a little over two years since the release of her last album Blown Away, but rest assured, Carrie Underwood has returned to us with some new music! The country superstar and Season 4 American Idol champ has just dropped her new single “Something In The Water“! The track serves as the lead single off her first-ever compilation album Greatest Hits: Decade #1, which is set for a December 9 release via Arista Nashville and 19 Recordings.
Co-written by Carrie with Chris DeStefano and Brett James, “Something In The Water” is a glorious ballad that is basically a straight-up testimony about God’s impact in her life, set to a soaring gospel-inspired pop-rock production and ending with an interpolation of the hymn “Amazing Grace.” Considering Carrie‘s first official single to country radio was a faith-based song (the Grammy-winning “Jesus Take The Wheel“), I think “Something In The Water” is the perfect choice to celebrate this milestone in her career. What do you guys think?
