On September 27, the Kool Haus was home to its very own party. It started with Wave Racer, an Australian-born DJ, the awesome supporting act for the Frequent Flyer tour. It was clear that the crowd was already getting into the vibe of the night, which was an eclectic mix of people out to party way too hard and people out to have a decently good time.
By the time it was time for Chromeo’s set, the crowd was antsy enough to start and stop chants for the band to come out. Both halves of Chromeo, David Macklovitch and Patrick Gemayel, were exceptionally talented at rousing the crowds and creating the perfect dance atmosphere. They were clearly comfortable on stage – definitely enough to ensure that everybody had a great time. I saw no unhappy faces from my vantage point and definitely heard no complaints.

Admittedly, the night’s most popular song was “Jealous (I Ain’t With It),” which blasted through the better part of this summer. It was clear however that Chromeo had developed their fanbase because there were absolute fans in the audience who lost their minds the moment David and Patrick stepped on stage and sang along to every single song (of a surprisingly short setlist).

A couple crowd pleasers – aside from “Jealous” – were “Tenderoni” and “Bonafied Lovin’” both of which were from their 2011 era.
Their next stop is Washington, DC. Have fun, boys! Check out the gallery below.
