Kirsten Dunst stars as herself in a short film that proves just how ridiculous the selfie obsession really is.
The short – titled Aspirational – was directed by Matthew Frost for Vs. Magazine on FashionTube.
Aspirational revolves around two girls approaching Dunst on the street to take a selfie with her. The girls seem completely unfazed about meeting Dunst in person and appear to be uninterested in having an actual conversation with her. They seem to only care about the kind of response their selfies will elicit from their Instagram followers.
A few highlights from the short:
“Don’t you want your friend to take it?” asks Dunst when one of the girls starts taking her selfie. “I don’t trust her,” the girl replies.
“Do you want to talk or anything? I mean, you can ask me a question. Are you curious about anything?” Dunst asks the girls. “Can you tag me…so it’ll show up on my profile?!” is their response.
The short ends with the girls driving off and Dunst standing alone, looking totally unamused.
