The Walking Dead Mid-Season Finale Tonight!

AMC’s The Walking Dead’s season 5 mid-season finale airs tonight at 9pm and we at Bestfan can not be  anymore depressed… What do we look forward to now!? Game of Thrones? pssh! As awesome as that show is, I’m pretty sure theres a porn parody out there somewhere if I want to satisfy my desire for an epic fantasy boob romp anyways. In light of this terrible inevitable circumstance, lets celebrate the most memorable events from The Walking Dead Season 5.

CAROL WAS BADASS.

Carol Peletier’s (played by Melissa McBride) development from timid broken wife to rule 63 Rambo was encapsulated in Season 5’s opening episode “No Sanctuary,” as she lead a one woman attack on the cannibal farm “Terminus.” She freed her fellow zombie apocalypse survivors Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and company, and caused the internet to break as she was re-united with her fan love-interest hopeful Norman Reedus‘ Daryl Dixon.

BOB GETS THE LAST LAUGH.

In a turn of events (which everyone saw coming), surviving member Bob Stookey (Lawrence Gilliard Jr.) broke rule number one in the zombie apocalypse and got bit in episode two of the season, “Strangers.” To add insult to injury, the episode ends with him being captured by ex- hipster-barista Terminus leader Gareth (Andrew J. West) and his posse of merry cannibal stragglers to which they can enjoy a B0b-eque. But in the following episode “Four Walls and a Roof,” Bob Receives swift revenge from his captors as he reveals in maniacal comedic justice that he is, “tainted meat.”

RICK GRIMES KEEPS HIS PROMISE TO GARETH.

Even though Bob got the last laugh, Rick Grimes had the last… machete kill? In the same episode as Gareth’s Z-Coli scare from Bob, Rick Grimes keeps his promise to kill Gareth with a machete from episode one of the season, and it is Metal as Fuck.

EUGENE’S MULLET AND CONFESSION.

Whats worse:

A: A redneck with a mullet who you thought had the ability to save the world, exposed?

B: A redneck with a mullet telling you he’s smarter than you when you’r emotionally broken?

C: A redneck with a mullet?

D: All of the above.

If you picked “D: All of the above”, then you would be correct. In episode five, “Self Help,” Dr. Eugene Porter (Josh McDermitt), is finally exposed in an intense scene that left some audiences gasping in surprise, and validation to audience in the know.

THE ZOMBIES.

What stood out the most about season 5 of The Walking Dead were the zombies, Greg Nicotero and his crew have managed to create the most interesting and gruesome zombie of the series to date. Putting an exponential amount of effort and imagination into their work, the Zombies in this season are stunning.
