Tyler, The Creator is all about making bangers. Let’s face it, we all know that. He has an arsenal of heavy beats and psychedelic lyrics that don’t always make sense, but then again, they don’t always have to. Earlier this year, he added more bangers to his archive thanks to his new album Cherry Bomb. Now, he released this album as a surprise a few months back, giving fans just one days’ notice, but two days before he dropped it, he announced that there would be a collaboration featuring Kanye West and Lil’ Wayne on a track called “Smuckers.”
As a rap and hip-hop fan, I can say with confidence that this year has been way too generous and there’s still more to come. But out of every rap track with a feature in 2015 (so far) “Smuckers” takes the cake, for various reasons. We have Yeezy who is absolutely killing his freestyle game right now, while at the same time getting people hyped for his upcoming album Smish.
And we also have Weezy, coming off his conflict with Cash Money records and vowing to break out of his “generic rap role.” And finally, Tyler, who has now found himself a rhythm and a “proper” rap flow, all while not forgetting how he started, by making house bangers.
“Smuckers” is a perfect treat for any rap and hip-hop fan. If you haven’t heard it, you should check it out right now!
