The bae was back in Toronto last night!
Nick Jonas performed to a sold out crowd at the Phoenix Concert Theatre last night, singing current hits and some oldies. Opening up with “Chains” got the crowd stoked. Everyone had their hands up in time to the rhythm.
My favourite part of the show was when Nick is alone with just his guitar. Not only did he perform my favourite songs like “Who I Am” and “Rose Garden,” he also sang a snippet of “A Little Bit Longer” (HELLO 2008 FEELS). This brought back some good memories and attendees were screaming the lyrics back at Nick at the top of their lungs.
Highlights include his performances of “Warning,” “Push” and the beautiful “Santa Barbara.” During these songs, you can see his vocal ability, hitting hit notes along with the low ones. I liked that he sang the songs so intimately and connected with fans. It helps that it’s a smaller venue.
He covered Drake’s “Hotline Bling,” The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face,” and the best one of the night, Outkast’s “Roses.” Loving that Jonas is covering more R&B tracks, showing he is more than just a pop singer. He can make it on his own, clearly with the success of his singles. His latest hit? “Levels,” which the crowd seemed to be really into.
Besides dissing the Blue Jays during his set (he’s a Yankees fan), Nick was flawless. We can’t wait until he makes his way back to Toronto.
