Fresh Music Friday: May 13th, 2016

We are back with another round of ‘Fresh Music Friday’. This is where our host, Sharon Bhella shares her personal stand-out picks of the week. This week, Sharon gives us some insight into new music releases from Meghan Trainor, Jason Derulo, Panic! At The Disco and more!

Watch the video below:

1.) Justin Timberlake – “Can’t Stop The Feeling”

JT is back and with such a fun new single! This video features the cast from the upcoming DreamWork’s film “Trolls” dancing around having a good time in the studio. I loved seeing James Corden, Anna __ and Gwen Stefani in the video, but my personal favourite part of the were the adorable puppies – not sure how they fit into people’s pockets but it was cuteness overload! This song to me is on the same level as Pharrell’s “Happy” which is definitely a fave so if you haven’t heard it yet you’re missing out!

2.) Meghan Trainor – “Me Too”

Meghan has been on a roll with the strong female message to her singles. I loved that this video really shows her super confident personality. The video in fact was re-released due to issues Meghan had with her label. The first release had some digitally altered footage to make Meghan appear skinnier, so that was super cool of Meghan for speaking up and making sure she remained true to herself by getting out her real image! My favourite part of this vid was the carpool karaoke scene with her wearing that animal print onesie.

3.) Jason Derulo – “If It Ain’t Love”

When does Jason not dance in his music videos? This time in “Spiderman” style for “If It Ain’t Love”. The video is set in an office where Jason turns the workplace place into an office rave with strobe lights and parties with his co-worker all night. This song is a must for this weekend’s playlist!

4.) Panic! At The Disco – ” Don’t Tempt Me With A Good Time”

Frontman Brendon Urie takes viewers with him for a wild night out in this point-of-view style video where the camera is angled from his date’s point of view. The night takes a weird turn and his date turns into a monster. I like the song, but not sure how I feel about the video! What did you guys think? The band will also be on tour this summer with Weezer and will be at The Molson Ampitheatre in Toronto, click here to purchase tickets!

Other recommendations:

Jennifer Lopez – “Aint Your Mama”

Fifth Harmony – “Write On Me”

That’s it for this week’s Fresh Music Friday picks! I hope you guys have a great weekend and if we’ve missed any songs that you think we should have included be sure to send us a tweet @bestfan.
