Our host Devante “Devo” Burey recently got the opportunity to chat with Irish indie rock band, Little Green Cars. The band just released their sophomore EP, ‘Ephemera’, which is a transitional collection of songs that illustrates the evolution of these five friends as individuals and as a band. Check out Devo’s interview below:
We’ve noticed the structure of your band is from the amazing challenges and success you’ve had over the many years during your career. What has been the peak & pit of your career? In other words: your most memorable moments at its highest and lowest points?
The process of writing and recording “Ephemera” has been the most fulfilling experience. We’ve been through so much together in the last 3 years. We’ve lost loved ones and there have been break ups and break downs, but the journey to this point has been extremely important for us as people and we are very proud of the music that came out of it.
What is the one thing the band is trying to accomplish through their sound when new fans listen to your music?
Our objective has been the same since day one. We want to write honest and truthful music that speaks to the heart of the human experience. The songs we’ve written for this record try to confront some big truths head on. Sometimes the truth is frightening, sometimes it disappoints you, and sometimes it only inspires more questions. But it is only by confronting it that you can begin to decipher its meaning and grow.
If you could change one thing about touring what would it be?
Myself, Donagh and Dylan are currently sharing bedrooms on the road. There’s only ever 2 beds but we have a rotation system which means that every 3rd night, I get the bed. If I could change one thing, I’d like my own bed!
At BestFan we would like to dig a little deeper into getting to know Little Green Cars. We will go through a series of questions asking you what your “Best” experience has been over these years of being together.
