This weekend was definitely a great start to Festival Season and our girls Sharon Bhella and Stacy Stace had the chance to attend day 3 of Ever After Music Festival. Check out their review of the festival right here!
Sharon: “Ever After was such a fun experience!! Before heading to the event I honestly wasn’t much of an electronic music fan (in fact I super disliked it before) however after this weekend I have 100% changed my mind! Maybe it’s because the DJ’s we saw were way better than the DJ’s I’ve heard at bars/ clubs. All I know is that this was one of the funnest shows I have ever been to! Bingemans park was filled with such good vibes all around. Everyone was friendly, the vendors were cool, there were awesome games setup like the Gauntlet and carnival rides to go on – all of which were free with your admission wristband. They also had a cool cashless system where you could load your wristband and not have to worry about paying for food, drinks or merch, you could just tap your wristband everywhere and it’s linked to your account! Event organizers had a cool Photo Booth setup that would even tweet out the picture for you if you setup your wristband! How cool is that?! Even the VIP bathrooms were awesome. This was a very well organized festival and I highly recommend you guys attend next year!!”
Sharon: “The first set that I watched beginning to end was Canada’s own Isabelle Rezazadeh also know as REZZ. At just 21 years old this girl has already released music on mau5trap and has a huge fan following after starting out in the music scene just over two years ago. During her set she wore some seriously cool neon light up goggles and had an impressive light show. I had the chance to catch her doing interviews at the media tent, and she seemed super cool. Really enjoyed listening to her story and seeing how down to earth and nice she was to her fans. Check out REZZ here!”
Sharon: “Next up was UK producer and DJ Joshua Mellody also know as Zomboy who absolutely killed it! Was definitely one of my favourite sets of the festival, I loved his energy and how pumped he got the crowd! He got his start in the EDM scene back in 2011 with the release of his debut “Game Time” and has since then been touring all over the world. Check out his most recent EP “Neon Grave” on iTunes here!“
Sharon: “Dillon Francis I was pretty excited to see even before hitting up Ever After, his song “Coming Over” had been on repeat in my car for the entire week leading up to the festival. The American DJ has had some pretty massive hits including “Get Low” which is basically the party anthem at almost every club if you’ve visited Las Vegas over the past year! During his set he had an impressive light show with some hilarious captions too. Check out his latest EP “This Mixtape Is Fire” on iTunes here.”
Stacy: “Only a few words can describe my first time attending an EDM festival; long but totally worth it! The Ever After Music festival is one of the biggest of its kind and I got to experience it for a full 12 hours. For starters, the weather wasn’t very cooperative as it did rain on us a couple of times (note to self: a poncho is a MUST for these situations!). However the acts scheduled to perform kept us entertained with their electrifying performances and despite the rain, the crowd kept going, bopping their heads to every beat.”
Stacy: “Just before the headliner, Flosstradamus kept the energy going! They’re a musical duo, DJs J2K and Autobot, from Chicago, whose musical genres consist of hip-hop, trap and electronic dance music. They have collaborated with some of music’s biggest names, such as Diplo, Juicy J and Canada’s own A-Trak. They even toured alongside Chromeo back in 2007 as part of the “Fancy Footwork Tour”. A song that I’m most familiar with is from the 22 Jump Street Original Soundtrack called “TTU (Too Turnt Up)” featuring Waka Flocka Flame, which is more than enough when it comes to “electro-trap” music.”
Stacy: “Of course last night’s biggest name was none other than Zedd, who played a 2 hour, non-stop set of a few of his greatest hits. He’s known to have been the genius behind many hits, such as “Stay the Night” featuring Hayley Williams, Ariana Grande‘s “Break Free” and his collaboration with Selena Gomez for “I Want You To Know”. However the German musician goes way back from 2009,when he started producing electronic music. Since then, he’s been producing remixes for artists like Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga and the Black Eyed Peas. In 2012, he signed with Interscope Records and has since released two studio albums: “Clarity” and “True Colors”.”
Not only was the music at the Ever After Festival incredible, but the bright lights and fireworks truly made the show more vibrant than it already was. Overall, we had a great time, met some great people and the show….let’s just say we’re still trying to recover from last night’s madness.
We hope you guys enjoyed this year’s Ever After! Be sure to tag us in your pictures and tweet us your favourite memory from the festival @bestfan.
