The New Zealand duo BROODS are back with their second album “Conscious”, out tomorrow (June 24th), and we got the opportunity to ask them a few questions. They talked about their sound, their project, what they have in store for the rest of the year and much more.
Conscious is the follow up to Broods’ 2014 debut album, “Evergreen”, which contained the singles “Bridges” and “Mother & Father” and climbed into the Top 10 of Billboard’s Alternative Albums chart. Joel Little (who’s worked with the likes of Lorde, Sam Smith, Ellie Goulding, and more) produced “Evergreen”. In addition, he served as the executive producer on “Conscious”, producing many of the tracks. Additional producers include Broods, Alex Hope (Troye Sivan) and Captain Cuts.
The lead single off “Conscious”, “Free,” is already in the Top 30 at Alternative radio, it has more than six million streams worldwide on Spotify and nearly 8 million streams worldwide across all platforms. The single has been certified Gold in Australia and New Zealand.
Broods is composed of sibling duo Georgia and Caleb Nott. They are scheduled to kick off their North American headline tour in Washington, DC and the summer run will include Canadian dates in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver this coming August. Check out the tour dates below:
