Our host, Jonathan Joseph had a quick sit-down to pick the brain of singer-songwriter Aluna Francis (of AlunaGeorge). The two sat down to talk about her latest single, “Mean What You Mean“, her collaboration with Dreezy and Leikeli47, her favourite type of chocolate, her favourite meal for breakfast, her message to the youth, her favourite thing about George and much more.
Aluna Francis is one half of the British electronic duo, AlunaGeorge. Many have described them as the “Aaliyah and Timbaland” of this generation’s electronic music, as George Reid (her production counterpart) handles the beats of many of her songs. The two have been recognized by highly acclaimed outlets for their music including BRIT Awards of Critic’s Choice, BBC Radio’s Sound Of Poll, and much more.
Recently, AlunaGeorge has been on a steady buzz climbing the charts with hits like, “I’m In Control” featuring dancehall star, Popcaan, who is famously recognized for his contribution to Drake‘s earlier version of “Controlla”. In addition, the two have contributed with DJ Snake on his single, “You Know You Like It“, Disclosure‘s “White Noise” and Skrillex & Diplo (Jack U)’s “To U“.
They got a major project coming our way this year called, “I Remember“. They are currently in the final stages of putting out a final product as they have been working in cities such as London and L.A. The duo has a large collection of songs to sort through to produce a 10-track EP. Look out of the album’s release set for September 16th. It will be released through Island Records.
