Interview With: John River

Canadian rapper, John River is an up and coming artist from Toronto who emerged on the scene with the success of his music video for “Hope City II” , which was nominated this year for an MMVA for “Best Music Video” alongside artists like Drake and The Weekend.

The trailblazer catches up with BestFan’s own Nairisha Batada at CBC Music Festival at TD Echo Beach. The two talk about John’s come-up in the Canadian music scene. John also opens up about why he feels its so important for artists to give back to where they are from, and much more. As a bonus, John and Nairisha also attempt to recall the words to “Skater Boy” by Avril Lavigne to reminisce on the first record he’s owned.

For more on Nairisha Batada, be sure to check out her personal blog, which features her day to getting to the CBC Music Festival and her behind-the-scenes with John River.
