Last night was a very exciting night for 5 Seconds of Summer fans as the boys played a show at The Molson Canadian Amphitheatre on their “Sounds Live Feels Live” tour. The amphitheatre was completely packed with fans who travelled from all parts of Ontario to see the boys. In the parking lot alone I met tons of families who drove hours to be there.
The lineup was completely insane – many of their fans showed up hours before the gates were open. Luckily it was a beautiful summer day despite the morning looking a little bit gloomy.
The first act was California rock band Hey Violet! This was also the first band 5SOS signed to their label Hi or Hey in 2015. I was surprised to see there were A LOT of huge Hey Violet fans in the crowd signing along to every song and holding up signs. Check them out on iTunes here.
Next up was Japanese rock band ONE OK ROCK who totally killed it during their set! These guys really got the crowd pumped just in time before 5SOS!
Finally, it was time for 5SOS to perform! They played a good mix of old and new songs – I fan girled hard during “Good Girls” and “Waste The Night”, love these songs!
Guitarist, Michael Clifford decided to create a hilarious song about Canada mid set all about poutine. He then quickly changed it to reference all of their favourite Canadian artists like Drake, The Weeknd, Avril Lavigne, and Simple Plan.
My favourite part of the show was definitely their camera games. The first one was the “Dad Cam”, where they found an older guy dressed as a super hero. The band talked about how cool that dad must be, however if he’s not a dad everyone should stay away from him. It was pretty funny!
They also had the camera catch random people in the crowd. Once caught on camera, you had to hug the person next to you! It was such a cute idea that spread a lot of smiles.
