October has been flying by quickly this year! We are only one week away from Halloween! So to get into the Halloween spirit, we are taking you with us for a BestFan TV Exclusive behind the scenes tour of Halloween Haunt at Canada’s Wonderland! Check it out below:
This was probably the 4th time I have attended Halloween Haunt, and must say it keeps getting better each year! To start the night off, we got to see how the talented makeup artists got the monsters ready. They have a crew of 19 makeup artists and approximately 400 monsters on staff every night! Many of the monsters I watched get “glammed” up were actually wearing prosthetic masks custom made for each person right at the park in their costume shop. The next coolest thing was watching the airbrush makeup – these guys are so talented to create realistic looking veins along the actors neck and face. My favourite makeup step was watching how the fake blood gets applied! You’ll have to see our video for that.
After getting some monster makeup tips, it was time for the mazes! We checked out a few, and you’ll get a sneak peak of our tour of the Code Red, Spirit Manor and Blood Shed mazes. Despite having a bright camera light, videographer and park media rep with us through the mazes we were all pretty scared! So if you can’t handle the creepy monsters walking through the front gate, or Scare Zone, you might want to reconsider a team huddle with a group of friends before walking in.
My favourite part of the night had to be talking to you guys! We caught up with a few park guests right at the “Code Red” maze exit and their reactions were priceless!
Overall, Halloween Haunt was so much fun! There is definitely something for everyone to enjoy from the rides, mazes, amazing food (Funnel Cake obviously), games and shows! When we went, the weather was great so a light sweater was okay, however in the previous years I’ve attended the weather was unpredictable, so I would recommend warm boots/ rain boots, and lots of layers instead of a bulky jacket. A scarf is probably not a bad idea if you can’t handle some of the mazes and need to hide for a bit until you reach the exit!
If you plan on going with your family, and there are little ones who want to join, Canada’s Wonderland has you covered! They have a family-friendly park during the day called “Camp Spooky” with cute, happy monsters roaming the park, trick-or-treating opportunities, kid friendly shows and mazes!
So, what are you waiting for?! Only one more weekend to visit Halloween Haunt! You can order your tickets here at this link:
