Since being on hiatus since 2013, John Mayer returns back to his solo career by premiering a brand new single.
Mayer premieres his latest cut, “Love On The Weekend”, which leans towards a mid-tempo soft rock track. Mayer celebrates the end to the week by singing, “It’s a Friday, we finally made it/I can’t believe I get to see your face, You’ve been working and I’ve been waiting/To pick you up and take you from this place.”
“Love on the Weekend” looks to be hinting at an Mayer’s upcoming album. Even though, there isn’t much information at the moment, his drummer Steven Jordan accidentally revealed to Entertainment Tonight that the album will be titled, The Search for Everything, marking his seventh studio album.
Recently, Mayer also previewed a short clip of a new song on his Instagram story, which many fans are saying reminds them of a bluesy, country cut. It’s exciting to see John Mayer back, and there’s no one more excited that pop sensation, Shawn Mendes. Yesteday, he tweeted his excitement about the new song.
