After teasing the release earlier this week, Lil Yachty and Carly Rae Jepsen give us their spin of Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock’s classic 1988 smash “It Takes Two.”
Today, the Target-sponsored track makes its debut with Atlanta’s Mike WiLL Made-It behind the production bringing feel good vibes from the original track with updated twist.
Both artists give their tribute to the classic song with Lil Boat even pulling from Rob Base’s flow for his verse, “I wanna rock right now, I’m Lil Yachty and I’m down if you’re down / I’m not the most lyrical kid known / Yet I’m known to keep the party goin’.”
The song will be part of three-minute spot, which will air during the Grammys on Sunday (Feb 12). It will be directed by Roman Coppola (“Mozart in the Jungle”) and choreographed by Mandy Moore (“La La Land”).
