New City – “Coachella”

Just in time for festival season, Toronto based trio NEW CITY have made a stirring debut with the reveal of their debut track “Coachella”, a summer ready electronic pop jam. Think Halsey meets LANY meets Calvin Harris, this song is a tune! Accompanied by a video shot in Palm Springs, the track serves as a welcome introduction to a band set for a big things to come.

The band consists of Adrian Mitchell (vocals), Jed Webster (guitar, programming) and Nathan Brown (drums, programming). NEW CITY creates music that’s youthful and liberating, drawing on influences ranging from Calvin Harris to The Weeknd.

“Coachella” is inspired by the giddy highs of the famous festival, written as the band sat in a Toronto basement while it snowed outside. Talking about the track, Adrian Mitchell states: “Everything in that song is basically about what we thought Coachella would be like if we went and everything that would happen.”
