Dan & Shay finally debut their new single, “Tequila,” which certainly sounds like it’s going to be one hell of a party song, but the duo switches it up for a silky smooth single reminiscing on heartbreak and regret. The track was penned by the duo’s Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney with writers Nicolle Galyon (Miranda Lambert’s “Automatic”) and Jordan Reynolds (“Kiss Me Like a Stranger,” Thomas Rhett),
This is the first taste of their new work, following their 2016 LP, “Obsessed” which landed them three consecutive number one records. During recent interview with iHeartRadio, the duo tell us why they took a describes the direction as “a cool, nostalgic way to talk about tequila… Libations of any kind will take you back to a certain time, make you see certain things.”
