Summer isn’t complete without spending a weekend at Boots and Hearts. This year actually marked the festival’s 8th year! There were over 35 country music performers and over 40,000 fans attending and camping at Burls Creek Event Grounds in Oro-Medonte, Ontario. Below are some memorable moments and photos from the weekend as well as our recap video for Boots 2019!
This year’s headliners included Maren Morris, Cole Swindell, Miranda Lambert, Kane Brown, Kip Moore and Jason Aldean.
We were a bit surprised at how many bigger artists were performing on the Front Porch Stage this year, however that didn’t stop the fans from keeping the energy high! Morgan Wallen was one of our favourites who got emotional during his set. We loved having the chance to see him perform twice on Sunday – first alongside Hardy and Mackenzie Porter in the Sirium XM House and again at the Front Porch Stage.
Boots and Hearts is also where some of our biggest Canadian country artists landed their major record deals! The Chevy Emerging Artist showcase takes place at Boots and Hearts every summer and gives country artists a chance to compete for the grand prize which includes a single released by Warner Music Canada, a trip to Nashville that includes a professional songwriting session, photo shoot and accommodations/flight covered! Past year’s winners James Barker Band, The Reklaws and Jade Eagleson hands down had an amazing start to their career through this program. This year’s grand prize winner is David Boyd Janes!
As for interviews we had the pleasure of chatting with Levi Hummon, Drew Baldridge and Michael Ray on Friday and they all had one festival answer in common! Can you guess which one?
