Jason Mraz performed in Toronto last night at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre with Raining Jane and we had a blast covering the show.
The setlist included a lot of his older hits like “Lucky” and “I’m Yours”. He also sang a lot of unreleased songs which will likely be on his upcoming album.
Mraz really knows how to put on a show, he managed to get the crowd laughing from the very start of the night. Just before his second song, he asked to see who in the crowd came to the show alone. Once he got the names of the fans, he made sure to make them feel welcome by including their names in the song and again giving them shoutouts several times throughout the show. Talk about thoughtful, right?!
After a few songs, Mraz asked Mai Bloomfield (guitarist and cellist for Raining Jane) to perform her newly released song titled “Three Little Words”. The song had a touching message about her journey with breast cancer and how she dealt with other members of her family battle with cancer a few years after her. This song really resonated with the audience and everyone in the venue gave her a standing ovation when she finished playing it.
Overall, the show was amazing Jason Mraz and Raining Jane sounded beautiful together. We are really looking forward to their next show in Toronto.
